체코의 위대한 작곡가 드보르자크의
딸과 결혼한 요제프 수크의 음악이다.

18세의 나이로 프라하 음악원을
막 졸업했을 때의 작품으로,
미래의 장인인 드보르자크 스타일의 
전형적인 특징을 담고 있다.

하지만,
드보르자크와 수크의 타고난 성격은
근본적으로 달랐다.

수크는 자주 우울감에 빠졌고
그의 음악에 내적인 어두움이 드러나곤 했다.

이 작품은 드보르자크가 수크에게
'변화를 위해 기분 좋은 곡'을 쓰라고 권유하여
작곡된 곡이라고 알려져 있다.

This is a piece by Josef Suk
who married the daughter
of the great Czech composer
Antonín Dvořák.

He composed
it at the age of 18 just after graduating
from the Prague Conservatory
and it contains the typical characteristics
of his future father-in-law Dvořák’s style.

However,
the innate temperaments
of Dvořák and Suk
were fundamentally different.

Suk often fell into melancholy
and a deep inner darkness
was frequently reflected in his music.

It is said that this piece
was composed at Dvořák’s suggestion
who encouraged Suk to write
a 'cheerful piece' for a change.
