이 곡은 여러 가지 이유로
모차르트가
아주 힘든 시기에 작곡되었다.

모차르트는 친구들에게
돈을 달라고 부탁하는 편지를 보내야만 했다.
"여유가 있다면 날 좀 도와주게나.
자네의 우정과 형제애를 보여주길 간청하네."
모차르트의 편지 중에는 이런 편지가 많다.
가슴 아픈 일이다.

하지만 모차르트는
이 경이로운 음악을 작곡했다.
이 곡은 그의 친구인
비르투오소 클라리넷 연주자
안톤 슈타들러를 위해 작곡되었다.


모차르트의
오페라, 실내악, 협주곡의
최고 요소가 결합되어 
기적 같은 정서적 충격을 안기는
새로운 음악이다.

This piece was composed
by Mozart
during a very difficult period in his life
for a number of reasons.

 

Mozart had to write letters to his friends
asking them for money.

“If you have the means, please help me.

I beg you to show
your friendship and brotherly love,”

he wrote.

Many of Mozart’s letters carry
this kind of desperate plea.

It’s heartbreaking.

 

And yet
Mozart composed this astonishing piece of music.

It was written for his friend,

the virtuoso clarinetist Anton Stadler.

 

The work brings together the finest elements
of Mozart’s

operas, chamber music, and concertos
—creating a miraculous
new kind of emotional impact.
